Custom Ear Plugs Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is louder than its reputation suggests. Theme park operations, a hospitality and nightlife sector that runs at volume six nights a week, marine trades and boat maintenance along the canals, and a high-rise construction sector that never really stops.

Hearsafe supplies custom-moulded hearing protection across the Gold Coast — made from an impression of your own ear, so it seals properly and stays comfortable through a long shift.

Hospitality and venue staff

This group is consistently overlooked. Bar staff, security, sound techs and floor managers spend entire shifts inside sound levels that would require hearing protection on any worksite, and almost nobody issues it.

Foam is not the answer, because you cannot do the job if you cannot hear an order or a colleague. High-fidelity filters bring the level down evenly while leaving speech clear, so you finish a shift without ringing ears and can still do your job.

Theme parks and events

Ride operations, live shows, pyrotechnics and back-of-house plant produce a mix of sustained noise and sharp impact noise, often for staff working outdoors in heat all day. Seasonal and casual employees are the hardest group to protect, because they cycle through faster than any training programme can keep up with — which is exactly why protection that works without technique matters.

Marine and boating

Engine noise on the water is sustained and low-frequency, which is the hardest kind for a standard plug to handle. If water in the ear is your problem rather than noise, custom swim plugs made from the same impression seal the canal properly — useful for anyone dealing with recurring surfer's ear or infections.

Construction and trades

Concrete saws, breakers, grinders and plant, in heat and humidity that makes foam soften and work loose. Moulded silicone does not absorb sweat and does not swell, which is the practical reason it stays in when foam does not.

  • Class 3, 4 and 5 protectors, matched to measured exposure
  • AS/NZS 1270 compliant with documentation for your WHS file
  • Mini grips and low-profile shapes that sit under a hard hat
  • Communication options so radio use does not mean breaking the seal
  • Washable and reusable, with a 30 day fit warranty and a 5 year extended warranty

How the fitting works

You book an appointment with a partnered audiologist or registered nurse. They check your ear canal is clear, then take an impression using a soft silicone that sets in a few minutes — about 15 minutes for both ears, and it does not hurt.

That impression is scanned and your earplugs are built to match it, with the filter fitted during manufacture. Turnaround is 10 to 15 working days. Sets come back individually labelled, and we hold your impressions digitally for two years so any later set skips the appointment.

For teams, our fitters come to your venue, yard or site and work through everyone in one visit, with fit testing on the spot.

Will I still hear customers or my crew?

That is the point of choosing the right filter. Over-protection is a real hazard — someone who cannot hear a warning or an instruction is less safe, not more — so we match attenuation to your actual environment rather than defaulting to maximum.

Can I get a set for sleeping as well?

Yes, and shift workers often do. Sleep earplugs from the same impression, with a different filter chosen for comfort when you are lying on your side.

How long do they last?

Years of regular use, provided you keep them clean — see our care and maintenance guide. Plan on fresh impressions about every four years, as ear canals change shape over time.

Is it cheaper than buying foam?

For a business, usually, once you count a year of disposables across the whole team. Our cost saving calculator runs it on your own numbers.
