About Us

Hearsafe Australia is committed to the on-going prevention of hearing loss to help ensure all individuals in the wider community are given every opportunity to retain fully functional hearing well into their later years, by providing high performance, high quality and well priced hearing protection products.

Hearsafe Australia fully supports The Third Domain, detailed below, as outlined in the Executive Summary of the recently produced Roadmap for Hearing Health, a Parliamentary inquiry produced in 2018 by the Hearing Health Sector Committee established by the Hon Ken Wyatt AM MP, Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care and Minister for Indigenous Health.

“The Third Domain — Preventing Hearing Loss— is directed towards everyone, and seeks to significantly reduce avoidable hearing loss across Australia through prevention, either through increased individual action, or wider considerations towards noise-reduction.”

Statement from Hon Ken Wyatt AM MP

“One in six Australians currently experience some sort of hearing loss, and this figure is expected to increase to one in four by 2050,” Minister Wyatt said.

“Complete or partial deafness can rob us of independence, self-esteem, learning capacity and the ability to socialise and communicate with others.”

“A recent report estimates the economic and social cost of hearing loss to our nation runs into billions of dollars each year.”

We at Hearsafe Australia believe that the best approach is the PREVENTION of hearing loss in the first place which would reduce the heavy financial burden on future Governments and Private Enterprises, particularly in relation to compensation claims in circumstances where hearing loss could have been prevented.
