Queensland's particular problem: heat

This is the thing that separates a Brisbane or Bowen Basin rollout from one in a cooler state. Foam earplugs and sweat are a bad combination. Foam absorbs moisture, softens and works loose faster in humidity, and a worker who is already uncomfortable in 34 degrees will not persevere with protection that is irritating them.

A moulded silicone plug does not absorb moisture, does not swell, and stays put. In practice that is the single biggest driver of whether hearing protection is actually worn on a Queensland site in February.

Getting fitted in Brisbane

Individuals book with one of our partnered audiologists or registered nurses. The impression takes about 15 minutes.

For teams, our fitters travel to your site — including regional and remote Queensland operations — and work through the crew in a single visit with fit testing included. If you are coordinating a shutdown or an induction, tell us the window and we will work to it.

Production takes 10 to 15 working days from receipt of impressions. Sets are individually labelled and we hold your impressions digitally for two years.

Is it worth it for a small crew?

What about agricultural work?

Tractors, headers, harvesters and irrigation pumps produce sustained low-frequency noise that ordinary plugs handle poorly. We supply hearing protection for farmers and agricultural workers specifically.

Can I use them for fishing and boating too?

Yes — and if water is the issue rather than noise, custom swim plugs made from the same impression keep water out of the canal.
